Mandatory choice for the Essentials Pass

The Essentials Pass from Go City includes exactly 3 attractions out of 15 - but cannot be combined at will. A fixed selection rule applies:

How the selection works

Exactly one of your three attractions must be one of the top 3 highlights: Vasa Museum, Stockholm Royal Palace or Skansen Open-Air Museum. You can choose the other two freely from the remaining 12 Essentials options.

Compulsory choice - exactly 1 of these 3

  • Vasa Museum
  • The Royal Palace of Stockholm
  • Skansen Open-Air Museum

+ 2 freely selectable from these 12

  • Viking Museum
  • Fotografiska
  • Boat trip to Stockholm's highlights
  • Nobel Prize Museum
  • Hop-on Hop-off bus tour
  • Nordic Museum
  • ICEBAR Stockholm
  • Royal Djurgården Boat Trip
  • The Museum of Spirits
  • SkyView Stockholm
  • Traditional Swedish Fika
  • Guided Winter Boat Tour

In concrete terms, this means that you cannot combine the Vasa Museum and the Royal Palace with the Essentials Pass - you need the All-Inclusive Pass for this. A permissible selection would be, for example, Vasa Museum (compulsory) plus Fotografiska and Viking Museum.

Most of the top attractions are on Djurgården

The island of Djurgården is Stockholm's museum island - and therefore the most important pass hotspot in the entire city. If you spend a day there, the Stockholm Card gives you access to up to eight included highlights within a few minutes' walk:

  • Vasa Museum, Skansen open-air museum and Nordiska museet are right next to each other.
  • Spritmuseum, Vrak Museum of Wrecks and the ABBA Museum (to be booked separately) can be reached in 5 minutes.
  • Gröna Lund amusement park is located at the western end of the island.
  • Boat trips to Drottningholm and the archipelago also depart from Djurgården.

Recommendation: Plan at least one full day for Djurgården. With the 1-day all-inclusive pass, you'll make up the cost of the pass here alone.
