Before buying
What is the Stockholm Card?
The Stockholm Card is a digital sightseeing pass from Go City. For a single price, it gives you free entry to 69 attractions, museums and boat tours in Stockholm — including the Vasa Museum, Stockholm Royal Palace, Skansen open-air museum, Drottningholm Palace, Fotografiska, the Nobel Museum, Gröna Lund amusement park and Strømma boat tours.
There are two options: the All-Inclusive Pass with access to all 69 attractions for 1 to 5 consecutive days, and the Essentials Pass with access to 3 attractions from the 15 most popular — one of which must be Vasa Museum, The Royal Palace, or Skansen, and you can freely choose the other two from the remaining 12. The Essentials Pass is valid for 30 days from first use.
The pass is used digitally via the Go City app — a QR code that you show at the ticket office at each attraction. It is provided by Go City, an international company that operates similar tourist passes in over 30 destinations worldwide.

The Stockholm Card is sold exclusively online via Go City. After purchase, you will receive a confirmation email containing your QR code for the Go City app — delivery takes up to two hours (to prevent fraud). There is no paper version and no delivery charges.

All-Inclusive or Essentials? Pass Comparison
What is the difference between Stockholm Card and Stockholm Pass?
Both terms refer to the same product from Go City. On the market, the digital card is available under both the names „Stockholm Card“ and „Stockholm Pass“, and the two terms are sometimes used interchangeably. In both cases, it is the official sightseeing pass providing access to 69 attractions.
What really matters is the choice between the two options: All-Inclusive Pass (1 to 5 days, all 69 attractions open) or Essentials Pass (3 attractions from 15 with a mandatory choice rule, 30-day validity).
All-Inclusive Pass or Essentials Pass – which one suits me?
The answer depends primarily on two factors: how many days you are in Stockholm, and how many attractions you want to see.
The All-Inclusive Pass is the right choice if you want to visit more than three attractions or want to decide spontaneously what comes next. It is valid for 1 to 5 consecutive days and includes the hop-on-hop-off bus and the hop-on-hop-off boat.
The Essentials Pass is a better fit if you're only spending a few days in Stockholm or have a clear plan: visit three specific highlights, and nothing more. With the Essentials Pass, there's a mandatory choice rule: exactly one of your three attractions must be the Vasa Museum, the Royal Palace, or Skansen, and you choose the other two freely from the remaining 12 Essentials options. After your first use, you have 30 days to make your remaining two visits – the days don't have to be consecutive.
Our quiz on the homepage will give you a specific recommendation in three short questions.
How do I choose the 3 attractions for the Essentials Pass?
The Essentials Pass works according to a fixed selection rule: you choose exactly three attractions from the 15 most popular — and exactly one of them must be from the top three highlights: Vasa Museum, The Royal Palace of Stockholm, or Skansen open-air museum. You fill the other two spots freely from the remaining 12 options.
This means that with the Essentials Pass, you cannot combine the Vasa Museum, the Royal Palace, and Skansen at the same time – for that, you need the All-Inclusive Pass. An allowed selection would be, for example, the Vasa Museum (mandatory choice) plus Fotografiska and the Viking Museum.
You make the selection during the checkout process on the Go City website. You can spread your three attractions out over the entire 30-day pass duration – they don't have to be on consecutive days.
Is the Stockholm Card worth it?
In most cases, yes, provided you visit at least two or three paid attractions per day. Go City guarantees that you’ll save money compared to buying individual tickets — for a typical sightseeing itinerary, the savings range from 15 to 50 per cent, depending on the type of pass.
The advantage is particularly clear for longer stays: the 5-day all-inclusive pass costs the equivalent of around 400 SEK per day, the 1-day pass, on the other hand 949 SEK. The longer you stay, the cheaper each individual day becomes.
Those only wanting to visit one or two attractions will get a better deal with single tickets – or can opt for the Essentials Pass for three selected highlights.
How much does the Stockholm Card cost for children?
Children between the ages of 6 and 15 receive a reduced pass. The children's all-inclusive starts at 299 SEK for 1 day and lasts until 799 SEK for 5 days. The Kids Essentials Pass costs 199 SEK.
Children under 6 years of age have free entry to most attractions anyway and therefore do not need their own ticket.
Which attractions are included?
The All-Inclusive Pass includes all 69 attractions – including the Vasa Museum, the Royal Palace of Stockholm, Skansen, Fotografiska, the Nordic Museum, the Nobel Prize Museum, city and archipelago boat tours, hop-on hop-off bus and boat, the Drottningholm boat tour, and much more.
With the Essentials Pass, you choose 3 attractions from the 15 most popular – with a mandatory rule. Exactly one of them must be the Vasa Museum, The Royal Palace, or Skansen. You then freely choose the other two from the remaining 12 options: Viking Museum, Fotografiska, Boat Tour to Stockholm Highlights, Nobel Prize Museum, Hop-on Hop-off Bus, Nordic Museum, ICEBAR Stockholm, Royal Djurgården Boat Tour, Spritmuseum, SkyView Stockholm, Traditional Swedish Fika, Guided Winter Boat Tour.
The complete up-to-date list is maintained on the official Go-City website.
On-site use
How do I activate the Stockholm Card?
After your purchase, you will receive an email containing the QR code for the Go City app (delivery may take up to two hours). The card is activated automatically the first time you scan it at an attraction.
With the All-Inclusive Pass, „Day 1" begins on the first scan. For example, if you activate a 3-day pass on a Tuesday, you can use it on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
With the Essentials Pass, the first scan activates the first of your three attractions. From that day, you have 30 days to visit the remaining two.
What counts as one day on the All-Inclusive Pass?
Once the card is scanned at an attraction for the first time, Day 1 begins. Each pass day ends at midnight, regardless of how late in the day it was scanned. So, anyone activating it at 5 PM will still only have a few hours left on Day 1.
Recommendation: Start in the morning, ideally with the first attraction to open. The pass days must also be consecutive – you cannot spread them out over multiple travel days.
Do I need to book attractions in advance?
For most attractions, no. You simply show the QR code at the ticket office and get in. One exception: many boat tours depart from the Strømma jetty at Strømkajen and need to be booked on site – especially in summer, places are snapped up quickly.
Recommendation: Pop into the Strømma kiosk on the first day of your trip to book for the following days. A single attraction (Stand-Up Paddle Adventure) also requires a reservation – all others are accessible without advance booking.
Is public transport included?
No. The Metro, Bus and Tram (Stockholm Public Transport, SL) are not included in the pass – for that, you need a separate SL day ticket.
However, the All-Inclusive Pass includes the hop-on hop-off bus and the hop-on hop-off boat from Strømma. Both cover the main tourist routes and, for many visitors, replace conventional public transport.
No, the ABBA Museum is not included in the Stockholm Pass.
No, the ABBA Museum is not included in either the All-Inclusive Pass or the Essentials Pass, even though it is one of Stockholm's most famous attractions.
There are two options for ABBA fans: an official combination ticket of Stockholm All-Inclusive Pass plus ABBA Museum at Tiqets - or the ABBA single ticket separately to the pass booking. We have compiled both options on a separate page with travel information, insider tips and FAQs.
Which boat trips are included?
The All-Inclusive Pass includes over ten boat trips: the classic boat tour of Stockholm's highlights (2h15), the Royal Djurgården Boat Tour, the Hop-on Hop-off boat, boat tours to Drottningholm Palace (round trip or single ticket), to the Viking town of Birka, to Vaxholm, to the island of Fjäderholmarna, the grand archipelago tour to Artipelag and Gustavsberg, the Canal Tour to Stockholm City Hall, and the Guided Winter Boat Tour.
The Essentials Pass also includes a choice of several boat tours: a boat trip to Stockholm's highlights, the Royal Djurgården Boat Tour, a hop-on-hop-off boat, and the Guided Winter Boat Tour.
Please note: most boat trips run seasonally from April to October.
Does the Stockholm Card also work in winter?
Yes, the pass is valid all year round — museums, the Royal Palace, the Vasa Museum and many other indoor attractions are open continuously. In winter, the Stockholm Card is therefore particularly attractive for museum-focused sightseeing.
Restriction: Many boat tours and the Gröna Lund amusement park operate seasonally from April to October. The Guided Winter Boat Tour is an alternative for water experiences between December and February.

Can I cancel the Stockholm Card?
